VIOLENCE PREVENTION

This program will examine the work of organizations like Chicago Cred, Homeboy Industries, and National Network for Safe Communities, and propose a new working model to focus on the very small population inside neighborhoods that are actively involved in street violence to include homicides, car-jackings, and targeted shootings.

We have found that in the past, Police organizations have felt left out of the support groups that work with violence intervention groups.

Lastly, the new hybrid gang model that exists in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and New York demands a new perspective and practical models to be put forth.
