POLICY & ADVOCACY

A core belief of the Justice Translators is that violence prevention models and community policing initiatives that were created in the 90s, and early 2000s are archaic, and need a paradigm shift.

The Justice Translators Policy & Advocacy initiatives will begin with outreach to Police Departments to create an access-driven relationship where our law enforcement advisors led by former Chicago Police Detective Danny O’Toole. meet and create working policy relating to community policing and local government.

This can be as simple as a working template for victim’s rights, or a Justice Translator staff member embedding with a police department to understand new crime trends, to advise on better police procedure.

The Justice Translators policy initiative is in its nascent stages as of 2024, with plans for a Justice Translators outpost in Washington, D.C in 2026.
